Maral and Borna’s wedding at Syon House was a romantic, black-tie affair rooted in Persian tradition. The ceremony centred on a beautiful Sofreh Aghd — the symbolic spread that represents the couple’s new life together — with sugar cones, honey, poetry by Hafez, and readings in both English and French. Maral arrived to Etta James, left to Handel, and somewhere in between took off the jacket she’d been wearing over her dress to reveal the full look for dinner in the conservatory. A string quartet from the Royal Academy of Music, stationery by Chelsea Fine Stationery, and every detail considered down to the last gold coin. Ceremonial, considered, and completely beautiful.
