Boturich Castle Wedding Photography | Multicultural Celebration at Loch Lomond

Rachel and Nish are both Londoners — Rachel’s Scottish, Nish is Indian — and they’ve spent years coming up to Scotland together to hike, drive, and camp along the west coast. They walked the West Highland Way last year, and Rachel told me part of the reason they chose Boturich was that the views reminded them of that trip. It makes sense. The estate sits on 165 acres within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, about 35 minutes from Glasgow, and the views across the loch are ridiculous.

The morning was a split start — Rachel getting ready at the castle itself, Nish and his groomsmen over at Cameron North Lodge about ten minutes away, which has a hot tub overlooking the water (they made the most of it). Rachel wore a beautiful Sassi Holford dress with a bespoke embroidered veil by Rebecca Anne Designs — modern and minimal. Florals were by Jeni Amey at Vanilla Rose Weddings, lots of greenery that worked perfectly with the setting.

The ceremony was on the terrace, outdoors, overlooking Loch Lomond in full sunshine. What made it really special was the fusion of Scottish and Indian traditions throughout the day — bagpipes and dhol drums playing together as guests arrived, which set the tone for the whole celebration. It was originally going to be a smaller wedding, but the guest list grew because that’s what happens when two big, loving families come together.

After the ceremony, guests spread out across the castle lawns with canapés, oysters, and cocktails while The Riffreshers played live music. Portraits were easy — the loch does most of the work. The evening reception moved into Boturich’s glass pavilion, which is a fairly new addition to the venue — floor-to-ceiling windows, crystal chandeliers, wooden beams. The sun set behind Beinn Ime and lit the whole loch gold, which is one of those moments you just stop and watch.

Rachel and Nish’s day had everything — colour, emotion, two cultures woven together beautifully, and one of the best settings in Scotland to do it in.
